Validation and Personal Authority

Offering others validation may seem like a kind and benevolent act, but if we are not mindful we may be perpetuating the disempowerment of the person we’re seeking to build up in the first place.
To validate another suggests that we are imbued with the authority to do so.
And while kindness, compassion, and witnessing can be affectionate forms of connecting with others, I think it prudent to be mindful that we are not inadvertent accomplices to others relinquishing their own inner authority to us.
